Tonight at 7pm is our first IR 50/50 match at the MCFGC Rimfire Range.

Unlimited rifles and factory sporters will be shot. See the I.R. 50 rules for definition of a factory sporter.

The March Sucker shoot will be on Sunday, March 23rd at 2pm. This will be the Broken Hearts match since the February shoot was cancelled. We will also be shooting IR 50 targets.

We have our own factory/sporter rifle class. Shooters do not have to shoot a custom rifle. The target is a lot of fun and the x count is not hard to add to.

The fee is $10 per rifle. Youth is $10 as well. Youth must be accompanied by an adult.

FACTORY rifles. Any 22 rifle which is basically unmodified and with a MSRP of under $1000.00. Excluded will be custom barrels and stocks, but any trigger or replacement and any optic allowed. Also excluded from factory class are the 40-x, Vudoo, Kimber, Cooper or semi custom rifles. Use any ammunition that your rifle likes. Shooters can look to the American Rimfire Association rulebook on-line for the Factory definition.

Factory will be shot at 50 yards and sandbags or bipod should be used. No one piece rests.

Custom rifles. Any custom built 22lr rifle or any rifle excluded from factory rifle. This class will be shot at 100 yards.

A few updates to the December Snowman Sucker Shoot.

– Start time will be at 3pm.
– There will be heat and cover. It is calling for rain.
– We will shoot at least one I.R. 50/50 target to see if shooters approve.
– Baby aspirins will be shot at 50 yds.
– We are shooting at different times and days to which suits our members best.

Christmas is right around the corner, so we have some snowmen to hunt. Instead of suckers, the factory sporters will be shooting snowmen. The custom .22’s will be shooting baby aspirin. This shoot will be Sunday, December 15th at 7:00pm 3:00pm. Range will be open at 5pm 1pm for practice.

The September ABRA Match will be Saturday, September 28th (rescheduled for Sunday, October 13th) starting at 7pm 1pm and under the lights. This match is for semi-auto and bolt action .22’s.

Cost is $20 for adults($5.00 per target) and youth shoot free. (Youth are designated as shooters who are ages 7 to 16 and shooters under 12 need an adult to accompany them while shooting)

This match is shot from a concrete bench while seated at 50 yards. 

These rifle matches are for .22 LR, with four(4) different classes to register in.

Factory Semi Auto– Any factory .22 semi-auto rifle with any scope shot off a bi-pod or front bag and rear bag. Must be a factory barrel with factory markings and factory stock. 

Custom or unlimited Semi Auto– Any scope or barrel diameter and any stock and one piece rest allowed. Any modifications to the action and custom barrels allowed.

Light barrel bolt action guns– Any bolt action .22, with any scope and modification and one piece or 2 piece rest or bipod and bag allowed. (Barrel tuners not allowed)

Heavy barrel bolt action guns– Any bolt action .22, with any scope and modification and one piece or 2 piece rest or bipod and bag allowed. (Barrel tuner allowed)

Results for the Sucker match on August 23, 2024

We had a great turnout with 16 shooters competing at 50 and 100 yards. We enjoyed great weather as well as a lot of fun.

50 yard sport/factory guns:
1st place- Ann Tucker 10/10 suckers
2nd place- Mike Mosbey 9/10 suckers in the shoot off
3rd place- 4 shooters were tied with a miss in the first round

100 yard custom guns:
1st place- Joe Jarrell 10/10 suckers
2nd place- Ann Tucker 9/10 suckers
3rd place- Jon Ferrell 5/10 suckers

On Friday, September 20th at 6:30 pm the club will hold a .22 L.R. sucker match with 2 classes ….factory and custom. Since several shooters have trouble seeing through their scopes even with lights, we will have white backers behind suckers so shooters do not need illuminated reticles in their optics.

Each shooter will be given a paper target to sight-in before each match and a shooter can shoot both classes if the shooter chooses. Blow-Pop and Dum-Dum suckers will be the match targets.

There will be a $10.00 fee for each rifle shot with $5.00 going to the club and the rest will be payout to the shooters.

Youth shooters are welcome but must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
